Editorial policy
How The Rank Index writes: no hype, no invented data, no paid placement, and a page only exists if it changes a decision.
Rules we hold ourselves to
Seven commitments
- 01
Every page must change a decision
If a page does not help someone choose, it is not published. This single rule removes most of what other sites publish.
- 02
No hype language
We do not write that something is revolutionary or amazing. We write what it does well, what it does badly, and who should pick it.
- 03
No invented evidence
No fabricated data-point counts, no fake testing hours, no fake reviews, no fake expert verification. Where we do not know, we say so.
- 04
Placement is never for sale
No vendor can buy a position or a score. Sponsorship, if it exists, sits outside the ranking and is labelled.
- 05
Scores are recalculated, not defended
When evidence changes, the score changes, including when that contradicts something we published before.
- 06
No mass-generated pages
We do not spin out a page for every keyword combination. One hundred pages we can defend, rather than ten thousand we cannot.
- 07
Named trade-offs
Every recommendation states who should not choose it. A recommendation without a trade-off is advertising.
Scoring mechanics live in the methodology. Mistakes are logged in corrections.
